Clients who achieve the most favourable results are those who are intent on achieving their goals, welcome guidance to attain them, are willing to commit to the process, and are motivated to succeed. There’s a direct correlation between a client’s success, their commitment and effort to the coaching process.

While not limited to the following, to achieve the most successful outcomes, Jackelyn helps her clients to:

  • Set and achieve goals
  • Overcome obstacles
  • Develop positive habits
  • Make better decisions
  • Increase self-efficacy
  • Improve communication skills
  • Manage life’s stressors
  • Experience more contentment and joy

Clients who experience the most benefit are those who commit to the process and take consistent action to achieve their goals.

Jackelyn has worked in various capacities with adolescent girls and young women. Having taught at the high school and college level, she learned how much she enjoyed helping teens and young adults succeed. Since girls would often come to her office and sit on her coach to talk about every area of their lives, Jackelyn recognized that girls needed more support. Eventually, she started a group for girls, where they discuss some of the issues they are facing in a safe, “edutaining” and collaborative space.

During this experience through fun games, creative activities and inspiring discussions, sessions address difficult topics to arm the girls with knowledge and awareness so they can make good choices to help them flourish in life.

Through their time together, the girls also build friendships, learn leadership and life skills, increase their confidence and apply what they learn.

To provide additional guidance, support and resources, Jackelyn chose to pursue certification in life coaching through Teen Wisdom since their program is designed for individuals who work with adolescent girls and young women in cooperation with parents to help them live their best life.

For those who may want to work one-on-one with Jackelyn in helping to reach their goals, she also offers coaching sessions, which are different than therapy sessions.

Coaching and therapy are both helping professions. Though there are similarities between the two, life coaching EXCLUDES issues that are therapeutic in nature including but not limited to: clinical depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, substance abuse, sexual/physical abuse, suicide or homicide, eating disorders, etc. and has its primary focus in assisting the teen or young adult to move forward toward a specific goal, deeper self awareness, achieve an established outcome, etc. vs the processing of inner core struggles. The life coaching process does so by providing support and specific strategies and tools to help maximize the quality of daily life and increase feelings of self worth for the client.

Should a client have a current or past history of therapy or if any of the issues stated above apply, coaching may not be the best option.

Should therapy be a more suitable choice for local clients, please inquire about a referral to a therapist within the area.

If you would like more information regarding the differences between therapy and coaching, you are welcome to request a Guide to Deciding Between Coaching or Therapy.

Yes, all life coaching sessions can be provided from a Christian faith-based perspective. Please inquire should this be of interest
